UJ’s DJ Stabito
Born in the Eastern side of Johannesburg, Ekurhuleni (Daveyton), DJ Stabito is a young and ambitious DJ who is driven to changing the world through music. It all began when a friend introduced him to a music mixing software in 2007, two years later, DJ Stabito accomplished the roles of running he’s own themed night (Thirsty Thursdays) at Stones, Melville (one of the most popular clubs in Johannesburg) and Chairperson of the University of Johannesburg’s APB DJ Academy the following year. Throughout he’s journey, DJ Stabito has positioned himself as an ardent devotee of quality, cutting edge House music and as a selector of note with he’s sets varying from deep, afro deep and commercial selections. This esteemed DJ showcases he’s passion in most regions of Johannesburg and has had opportunities to exhibit he’s skills in places outside the city like Rustenburg, Klerksdorp, Warden, Sasolburg to name a few. DJ Stabito’s talents are not restricted to rocking the hottest dance floors – this DJ is also the founder and CEO of NZS Productions; a marketing, entertainment and events management entity. DJ Stabito further maintains constant interaction with he’s supporters through social networks such as Twitter and Facebook, with over 400 followers and 500 fans, respectively, while issuing a weekly gig guide. DJ Stabito also posts a series of mixtapes on SoundCloud (www.soundcloud.com/stabito) called “Midnight Sessions”, which he one day dreams of converting into a compilation CD. Through a unique branding strategy and innovative positioning as a DJ, it is not hard to see why DJ Stabito is one of the most promising new musical talents in South Africa. He has played alongside Celebrity DJ’s Such as DJ Fresh, Euphonik, Black Coffee, Shimza and The Infinite Boys to name a few. He finished 4th out of 200+ DJ’s at the 2011 Pale Ya Rona Battle of the DJ’s, hosted by the Gauteng Department of Sports, Arts and Culture and Recreation.
