SA MINT are offering candidates the opportunity to enroll in an apprenticeship which will teach students trades as boilermakers, millwrights, toolmakers and electricians. Applicants must have passed Matric with 50% in Maths and 50% in Physical Sciences, or their N5 or N6, having passed all four related engineering subjects. The following requirements are applicable: students must be able to provide their own transport and make sure they have accommodation. Students must be medically fit and be willing to work overtime shifts if that is required. Because this apprenticeship takes place in the Gauteng province, applicants from the East Rand will be given first preference. The apprenticeship will take place in three phases: - 1: The successful apprentice will run a 26 week course that will cover all training modules in theory and simulated for the practical trade at the SEIFSA Training Centre - 2: After passing phase 1, apprentices wil lrun a minimum 54 week practical course for the trade at South African MINT. - 3: Upon completing phase 2, applicants will be enrolled in a trade test.
