#TUTPride campaign to build its brand on social media
By Matshidiso Makhalanyane Although the university is still facing a rough patch with having to opt for an early recess, cheerful moments finally hit them after a hectic few weeks of striking. Tshwane University Technology (TUT) has announced the launch of #TUTPride. “In spite of the challenges the university face and the accompanying negative press, there are also many inspiring and feel-good stories emanating from its staff, students and alumni. The university prides itself in these stories and has therefore decided to start a campaign called #TUTPRIDE. The initiative aims to build the TUT brand on social and electronic media by showcasing the success of a range of TUT stakeholders fronts on many at least twice a month. It hoped that these stories are read, shared and liked in all corners of the world.” “Debbie Collins, Miss Nigeria 2015 represented her country in the Miss Universe Pageant. Debbie is a TUT Alumnus who successfully completed her studies in Business Information Systems. She believes that determination and strength of character are the key components of success. After her reign she envisions a career in TV and movies.” From the comments of students on social media, it shows that they are gladly looking forward to telling their stories and upgrading the image. Many stories are to be told, both sad and joyful.
