Earlier this year, the University of Limpopo opened the ninth medical school in the country with an intake of 60 medical students. Nzimande was addressing thousands of learners at the career exhibition, “The University of Venda will be the first former black university to have an engineering school, also this year we have opened the first medical school since 1994 at the University of Limpopo. There is an 80% shortage of doctors in the province but now we have taken in the first 60 students.” Source - SABC News

University of Venda gets boosted with new medical and engineering schools
The University of Venda in Limpopo will be introducing degrees in medicine and engineering from next year. The announcement was made by the Minister of Higher Education, Blade Nzimande, at a national education career exhibition in Bela Bela.
