Finally, you are a graduate! All those sleepless nights have paid off, and you’re about to start your adult life. Starting this new chapter of your life can be scary, and at times you may feel like this is way out of your league. All those feelings are normal, but you need to relax because this is the time where you can finally be who you have always wanted to be.  Before jumping into your career, there is one thing you should do: travel. But since you’re reading this article, you may have already planned your little getaway.  Travelling at a young age is always beneficial. It helps you grow as a person, and teaches you compassion, especially when you visit underprivileged areas. It helps you to see and understand different people and cultures, and it teaches you to try out new things.  Yes, travelling may feel scary, but that’s what friends are for, right? Taking a break to spend time at the beaches in Seychelles is exactly what you and your group of friends need.  Once you start working and building your career, things will change. You will be busy or exhausted from work and unable to spend time with your friends every weekend. It’s a new time in your life, and you will meet new people, which might make it hard to connect with old friends. So, travelling with friends after graduation gives you a chance to strengthen your bond and create new memories. It also makes the layover time more bearable.  So, since you are travelling to Seychelles and you’re wondering what you’re going to do once you’re there, read our guide below.

Sunset watching at the beaches

Sunsets are always stunning, but they’re even more breathtaking at Seychelles beaches. Seychelles has some of the most capturing beaches in the world, so grab your friends and enjoy the view. If you plan to arrive a few hours before the sunset, you can pack a book to read and just relax. Because you are with your friends, the chances of you getting bored are non-existent; you can even go for a swim while you wait for the sunset. There is nothing like spending quality time with loved ones, so you should also pack in a little picnic for the date.

Spend time at the secret waterfall

Seychelles isn’t only known for their beaches, as there are many things to do in Seychelles like going to the waterfall. This iconic waterfall is in Praslin, and although it isn’t mentioned in many travel guides, you can find it on Google maps, so it’s not really a secret.  Although it may not be easy to find, it will be worth it once you do. When you get there, you will see a secluded waterfall, succulents and ferns everywhere. This is perfect for a little stroll with your friends; a place to relax by the waterfall with calm background noise.

Try the local dishes

Trying out local dishes is a must-do when travelling. Being adventurous when it comes to food can help you and your friends learn more about the culture. When eating from the locals, you’re also helping out the community. For some, selling local dishes is a form of living, and they need all the help they can get. So, why not add a smile to the local vendors’ faces by buying food from them. While you’re trying their food, you can also try Seychelles’ local brew. SeyBrew Larger was launched in 1972 and has continued to thrive for years.

Watch turtles

Seychelles is home to two species of turtles; the hawksbill and the green turtle. If you and your friends travel between October and April, you might get lucky and see the turtle hatchlings. You can find the turtles at Anse Georgette beach in Praslin, or you can go to Mahé, Anse Intendance, to experience this memorable event.

See the giant tortoises

If you or any of your friends are animal lovers, you definitely need to see the Aldabra Giant Tortoise. These giants can only be found in two places: the Aldabra Atoll in Seychelles and the Galapagos Islands in Ecuador. They can weigh over 400kg and can grow to 1.3m in length. They are known for nibbling on fruit and berries while grazing on the island.

Final thoughts

Seychelles is a beautiful destination to visit. But it’s even more memorable when you’re with people who understand and love you. True friendships are important and need to be nurtured, so go on adventures with your best friends, show them what they mean to you and create wonderful memories for you to cherish before starting your next solo journey.
