AfriForum neglects applications regarding temporary interdict regarding the UFS
By Matshidiso Makhalanyane The urgent application which was made by AfriForum to seek temporary interdict against University of the Free State regarding its newly language Policy has been abandoned in Bloemfontein High Court. This appeared in a letter that was from AfriForum to the attorneys responsible for the UFS on Wednesday. This follows after the University refused to agree to interim against the Language Policy approved by the University in March 2016. UFS suggested to the attorneys that both seek a date to have the legality of the Language Policy by 2016 June so that in can be implemented in 2017. The UFS leadership welcomes the abandonment of the attempt by AfriForum to procure an urgent court order. The University is also happy about the proposed timetable. The UFS community and the surrounding public will be informed of any developments thereof.
