These innovative bags charge on a child’s walk to and from school, later transforming into a light to enable them to finish homework and study at night. Kgatlhanye competed against 8 contestants, chosen by 8 other international editions of ELLE who partnered with investment firm Le Comptoir de l’Innovation for this initiative to promote women entrepreneurs. Each of the editions held a local competition to award one woman-led business or a business dedicated to female empowerment. Kgatlhanye was selected on February 26th 2016 to represent the country on April 6th 2016 in Paris at ELLE’s Headquarters.
